The one I'm referring to was a man who found another man raping his daughter (5) behind his barn at his house, he pulled the man off of her and beat him badly, realizing he had gone too far, he called 911 and pleaded with them to help and several family members attempted CPR. The rapist died and the father wasn't even brought up on charges.

I do know about the father whose boys were killed and ran back to his house got his gun and shot the drunk driver who murdered them. Different case though. And I think he is going to trial (which is just) but I doubt he'll serve time.

Really though, my point is, a person can hold different views on something beig lawful vs something they wish could happen. It's the public persception that I'm talking about. I don't believe in the death penalty, and would not press for it nor advocate someone getting it. If the baby murderer jumped off a bridge tomorrow, however, I wouldn't rejoice, but I certainly wouldn't shed a tear either.
