You're right that the vast majority of the audience won't vote Dem either way, but there might be a few who can be persuaded even among the Faux regular viewers. In addition, consider how often people report seeing Faux on publicly available televisions in bars, health clubs, and so forth. Some people who aren't Faux regulars will be viewing any particular segment that airs. Having someone get in at least a bit of counterpoint is better than letting a Faux host intone, "We invited several Democrats to come and try to explain this, but all declined."
