In reply to the discussion: Israeli police head to US to aid in Boston Marathon bombing investigation [View all]Xithras
(16,191 posts)I make no apologies for the fact that I don't like the Israeli government and their policies, and consider them an untrustworthy ally. The Jonathan Pollard case alone demonstrates the fact that the Israeli government considers American security interests to be secondary to their own, and that they have no problem violating our laws and trust in order to further their own goals.
The simple fact is that the current Israeli government has been beating the war drums for many months against Iran and has recently begun seizing more land for settlement in the West Bank. Their biases are well known, and are publicized for the world to see. If Israeli security agents find anything in Boston that implicates Israeli enemies, and brings America closer to war with those enemies, then the evidence is immediately suspect. We'd have to ask ourselves whether the discovery is genuine, or whether it's another "babies being tossed out of incubators" moment. There's a trust issue here, and it's one that we really don't need to deal with (we have plenty of investigators who are more than capable of getting to the bottom of this). We should thank them for the offer and politely decline.
And who is Alex Jones?
