a little about myself first...I am a Democrat and I have basically forced my children to be so by threatening them with my silence if they were to ever even image voting for the dark side, lol. I have donated to every Democratic member and group whenever I could afford to do so. I volunteered and knocked on doors to get Pres. Obama back into office again for a second term. I completely believe in the left spectrum of our political system with all my heart.

BUT...I believe even more so in our principals and belief system of government even more. I lead my children by this example so I must do the right thing at all times to be their guiding light.

My sister made a statement to me recently that stopped me in my tracks. She said, "Legal or not, does it matter, they are getting your party the votes they need to stay in office. Isn't that all that matters to you and your Democrats?"

As a thinking human being I had to accept her comments and even more then that I needed to realize that our system of government is broken when we as a public allow outsiders to determine our future and the future of the nation that we all love. She was right and I was wrong and man I hate it when when she is right, I really, really do so much hate it...but she is right.

We are allowing our nation to be stolen from us. We are allowing a corruption of our values and principles at a pretty high level to happen to us. Why? Simply because we what so badly to win elections and control everything? It will destroy us, with hunger for power and control, the lost of our nation built on laws that we hold dear will be our punishment. I am not saying that the Republicans are good guys, they are not. I am not saying that I will never cross the line in the sand and join them on the other. Hell will freeze over first.

I do not like the Republicans or their party and I never have but I will defend their right to be a part of the battle. If we are to continue as a nation of laws and survive this present challenge to who we are then we must face our real enemies, ourselves. WE do ourselves no service in accepting the interference of millions of outsiders in those battles and we assist in the ending of our understanding of who and what we are about as a nation by accepting them. So we have their votes in great enough number so that we kick the Republicans out of the political arena for some time to come but at what cost. By taking these actions we do a disservice to all American citizens of all parties and we may not survive the damage done to our country and to me that is too great a price to pay.

I am afraid that many of my fellow citizens may hate me but I can not hold back my thoughts for I love my country far to much for that to happen. I probably will not even be heard for who am I? I am the plain Jane on the street, a regular Joe as some would say but that is the funny part about being an American. I believe that my voice matters, it has it's place in this nation. So I going to use it whether it is heard or not by others, whether it is listened too or whether I am hated or spit on/called names. So many individuals from both sides no longer even discuss our nations concerns. So here goes....

If we are to survive as a nation we must get back to the ideal of a fair playing field for all political parties not just the one party that we prefer. We as a public either believe in fairness in our dealings or we do not? We believe in the rule of law or we do not? We believe in our system of government or we want it changed for special interests groups outside of the main stream public? We can not have both values, both principles existing side by side, it is a decision of one over the other so where do our values lay now. Will our values, our principles die on the vine or continue to grow as our fore-fathers had hoped? This is the test I see, I believe lays before us as a nation, as the public which supports and loves our nation.

Yes, we are being tested once again by forces developed by our selves but also from special interests groups which prefer we lose our values, our founding principles because it suits them, not us and they will take away the center core of who we are and what we represent as a people and as a nation. There are no parties in the words, "We The People of the United States of American" and we should not allow party interest or special interest to determine who we are or what we are about. They should not be allowed to appended any more words onto this phrase which we hold so dear in our hearts.

I believe that if we are to survive, to be that light in the harbor for all to see then we must return to the foundational values of fair play, to be a land ruled by law only, not a land ruled by special interests groups who have their own agenda they follow or to follow our own personal views acting as if we live alone in this nation. How do we expect our politicians to go back to those values if we ourselves do not value them or follow them. We must place a greater value to them over our own self interest and those of others who hope we do not remember who we were meant to be. That only Congress has the right to make our laws while Presidents acknowledge/Sign them or Veto them, of course the Supreme Court plays it part for better or worst, all of this happening based on the approval of the General Public which is to be defended and protected by all 3 branches put into place by our fore-fathers.

Yes, our system of government is broken, at times I believe it is dying, that it is being pulled apart from within itself. We have allowed our political parties to disillusion us about our way of government but we must fight back. We must fight for the nation we love so much. We need to turn the tide to keep our light shining, our hopes alive, our America dream alive. First, we must fight fair above all else. I believe if we return to our founding values and principles, that we live by them and our laws, we cherish them as we should that we will live again as that nation that lives in our dreams. That we will once again be that shining beacon in the harbor not only for the rest of the world but most of all, more then anything else for ourselves.

If we do not act then certainly the American Dream will die for all of this nation's citizens and we will become a country without laws, values or principles. A country of so much chaos...I fear the future that stands before us for I fear that we as a nation, as a public will not make the right decisions. We must act and do the right thing for all who live here, not just ourselves and our own interests. We must return to thinking of ourselves as one nation which is indivisible that has justice for all.

Our America house will fall otherwise...a house divided upon itself can not survive so let's live by the rules of fair play.

That had so many right wing talking points, I asked if it was chain email, but you never came back. It was full of dog whistles used by xenophobes and racists. You may be simply ill-informed - the Democratic Party is not going for illegal voters, that is a right wing smear. I gave you the benefit of the doubt there, but this claim you make here isn't making your case very well.
