When the research started to come out that cigarettes MAY cause cancer, people ignored anything related to cigarettes being a possible health risk. It took another 30 or more years just to get smoking banned in restaurants and in the work place. It has taken another 30 years to get them banned in bars. A pack of cigarettes in NYC is $13.50 a pack. People still smoke. They will continue smoking until they die. It doesn't take a research study to know that nicotine, in any form is a toxic substance. But if you have a habit, and you have had that habit for a long time. You will probably smoke until it kills you. And it will.
