53. The problem is the misguided belief that children never lie

Reality: children lie like rugs if it's in their best interest. Bil Keane even had a character to symbolize it in Family Circus...remember the little ghost with Not Me written on it?

What happens in a lot of these cases is kids are coerced and cajoled into lying the way the prosecution wants.

I read the results of a study once. They hired an actor, flew him to a city on the other side of the country, and had him sit on a stool in the corner of the classroom for half an hour. He just sat there. Then they sent the child abuse investigators in...by the time they were done, this guy had raped every kid in class, performed satanic rituals at his home, and killed and ate a classmate who was still in their classroom.
