I didn't get it then either as Gore had always had no reputation of the Bill/Monica problem himself. He had a very attractive family and his wife was his college (or hs) sweetheart.

Supposedly it was Lieberman's calling Clinton out on Monica earlier than other Democrats that gave him the nomination - and it was considered that he would win FL. (Though Graham would certainly have done that as well.)

Supposedly he rejected Edwards and Kerry for Lieberman. Kerry would have KILLED Cheney in the debate.
