Russian arms are often cheaper. And, if you include the black market, even in $ they probably trump the US.

Putin says it's patriotic--remember, the root of the Russian word for "patriotism" is obvious to Russians, and is "fatherland"--to support the Russian arms industry. ("Pater" isn't of much use for most English-speakers in kenning the etymology of "patriotic," nor do we have the word "patria" as Russians have otechestvo < otets 'father').

Perhaps Americans should also be patriotic. Support Uncle MIC!

This is the kind of article that attracts no attention or condemnation for Russia on the part of some people until similarities with the US are pointed out. Immediately the US must be condemned, even if reflexively at even at the price of begrudging condemnation of Russia.
