In reply to the discussion: Israeli soldier thought captured is declared dead [View all]DLnyc

I said:
According to this article in The Jewish Daily Forward, Hamas had sent no rockets for 19 months when Israel started this round of bombing
For one thing, your reply doesn't differentiate Hamas activities from those of other Palestinian groups, which is sort of relevent, since Israel keeps saying their attack is aimed at Hamas. But I particularly take issue with this sentence of yours:
3,055 rocket attacks in 2014 alone.
From the Wikipedia page you quote, 2,874 of those were launched only after Israel began their attack against Gaza.
So during 2014 when Israel started this round of bombing there had been 185 rockets (not 3,055) and, as far as the evidence that I have seen, none of them were launched by Hamas anyway.
I repeat, my understanding is Hamas had not sent any rockets for 19 months when Israel started their latest bombing of Gaza. I think this is a pretty important issue and I would be very interested in hearing you reply directly to this statement, but, with all due respect, I don't really feel your post has done that.
