You don't wear $180 patent-leather basketball sneakers to play basketball, you wear them to make a "fashion statement." The statement, of course, is "I have $180 to spend on a pair of ugly shoes."

No, you spend the $180 on the ugly Jordans to wear OFF the court, and then you spend $30 on a pair of Chucks to wear ON it.
