but I think I understand your question and point. No slight intended. Perhaps gays was the wrong choice. I was just using the two paradigms to illustrate that some things have always been with us. Child/female abuse, a horrible and disgraceful thing, has been with us practically forever, so it seems. When it is "discovered" it is usually punished, but even public punishment is not enough to turn people away from pedophilia. It's a sickness.

We've also had gays, and for that matter, "straights" or heterosexuals, since time began. Sadly, gays have been ostracized and worse over the years for nothing more than being a little different. I equate heterosexuals with homosexuals, but I do not in any way equate pedophilia with homosexuality. I am aware that many homophobic people over the years have equated the two, which I never intended to do.

You know, I don't know if trying to explain this is helping any. Perhaps I will delete the post.
