They accuse Paxman of not doing his homework when it's clear that they have absolutely no idea who he is. For anyone who doesn't kow, he is the finest and most aggressive British political interviewer since Robin Day and the very reason that Tony Blair was far more likely to be giving interviews to Des O'Conor than on Newsnight. Then they compound this by mocking his accent and manners. It all comes across as an exercise in creative ignorance combined with some very public kissing of Brand's arse.

Here is Paxman interviewing the then Home Secretary Michael Howard about the decision to sack the former head of the Prison Service. This is an object lesson in how to stop a politician wriggling off the hook.
