Eric Cantor's Loss - FoxNews Admits It's A Win for Democrats Nationally Long Term [View all]

Brit Hume indicates it was immigration reform that was the key in this watershed vote, but also wonders too if Democrats crossed over to vote for Cantor's opponent, Dave Brat... as it was an open primary and Democrats would be able to influence the election.

It was also noted that turnout was extremely low but the fact that polls missesd this outcome brings poll accuracy into question. 'The Lord Did It' was one comment regarding the bad weather as one potential reason. Basically FoxNews was all over the place about this, but you can tell they were not ready for this and see it as a basic loss for the Presidency if immigration reform becomes a hands-off issue for Republicans going forward.

Apparently Cantor can have a write-in campaign, and could actually run as an independent... this remains to be seen, but they talked about all the options available to him.
