If anything is going to change, people are going to have to look beyond what appears on their TV screen.

It's become not only acceptable but expected to shrewdly play the game, the end justifies the means.. Place you finger in the wind and find out where your constituents are at then tell em what they want to hear. Delivering on the promises made isn't important, the reward is in playing the game well. The media rarely follows up, so lying well becomes an asset worthy of praise.

This has been going on for so long that even the public accepts it. We really don't expect our representatives to tell us the truth anymore and it's become harder know when they're being sincere or lying their asses off. In the end it's just about winning. We admire winners, tell us anything and as long as you win all sins are forgiven.

The game of lies and deception will continue as long as we're willing to play along.
