President Obama fielding question about Romney, Bain, Booker controversy [View all]

I didn't see this posted and thought it was such a much needed clarification to remind these Republican political amateurs of the job description of the president that I wanted to give it its own thread. Since Dubya's election, every time I've heard republicans tout the business experience of another nominee or candidate for president I've wanted to scream "No! The presidency is not a business! It's totally different!" So glad the President is not ceding ground to business experience as a claim on the White House.

"And so, if your main argument for how to grow the economy is, 'I knew how to make a lot of money for investors,' then you're missing what this job is about. It doesn't - it doesn't mean you weren't good at private equity, but that's not what my job is as president."
