As an aside, the Senate is apparently staffed with nothing but cowards. If one little judge poses an existential threat to the entire post-nixon conservative counter-revolution, then that 'revolution' is pretty fucking fragile in the first place. If I were Yertle, I would go find the most blood-thirsty liberal attorney I could and stick him up there, cause if I really believed in what I was selling, fuck that guy he ain't no threat...even from the Bench.

That Mitch is being cautious and craven means he already knows he lost the fight. Let's make him PAY FOR IT THIS TIME.
