People spit on the sidewalks, it dries and you don't know you're stepping in it, you bring it home and now its on your living room floor. Your dog lays down on the floor and it gets in the dog's fur, the dog licks itself and all the horrible diseases the spitter has is now mingled with dog spit and you kiss your dog on the mouth.

That's what I think about when I think barefoot.
