Very Sturgeon like in the snout but it appears to be a chewing-not suction-style mouth-that does extend like a sturgeon's.

Ancient that is for sure...

And the eyes are awesome. Definitely a deep water vision thing On a sturgeon they are almost a vestige. But they both have the sensory dot pattern on the snout.

I have fished for sturgeon for years. I leave them alone now-arms can't take it anyhow as they do get very large. But I was mostly catch & release in the old days.
