11. Yet again a thread title doesn't live up to the billing. I wish it were otherwise.

Anyone who doesn't understand the benefits of why young people should have to enrol in Healthcare, would have been none the wiser from this.

I would have expected Robert Reich to have gotten over the straightforward idea that while young people are paying into a system that they may not benefit from right now, they will benefit in time to come, when they are older (and need to use healthcare). And then the young people of that time, will subsidise them.

He should have also pointed out that IF young people were able to get out of signing up for healthcare, and then subsequently got ill, the Republicans were trying to get rid of pre-existing conditions, it would be a death sentence for them !!!

We have Community Rating here in Ireland, and while we have our own problems with a desperately inefficient Public Health Service, once you are in the system, it works quite well.
