44. Could this be any more tone deaf ?

I think kids feel that they've had enough guns pointed at them lately - Hell, since Columbine - that this shit is not funny at all. Anyone who thinks it is funny hasn't yet experienced the wrenching gut-twisting terror of having this happen near you. And that's always one of the first things you hear at the scene,"Oh we never thought this could happen hear." It can happen anywhere.

My niece is 15. She attends Marjory Stoneman Douglas Highschool. She did not herself get wounded or see anyone shot, but when SWAT came to the classroom to escort the kids outside, she walked past bodies lying in pools of blood and body parts splattered on the walls. One of the reasons it took a while to identify some of the children is because Cruz aimed for faces. She's 15. She will never be the same. Her innocence has been ripped away from her and this moment will define her life. We are worried for her future. She is such a sensitive girl.
