What happens in this country - and this world - means nothing to him. He does not care about anyone or anything - not even enough to make an effort to learn about a damn thing! I've long believed that he got the idea to run for president with only one thing in mind - the only thing that does matter to him - as a money making scheme. Every misguided "business" scheme that he'd tried had failed and he was out of options - but he believed that this could raise his profile, he never expected to "win." But he found that not only was this a way to tap into the U.S. treasury for the benefit of himself and his grifting family, but he also found that he loved the attention, the cheering crowds, people listening to him no matter what he said or did! He had no intention of actually doing the job - and he hasn't. And he intends to stick with it because he now sees himself as untouchable, above any norm or law, because "he said so."
