out a puppy video and you can get many thousands of views, hundreds of replies, and likes out the wazoo.
So once when I was posting about the plight of the vaquita, I stuck in a puppy video just to see if it would help get noticed (Not so much).

I reached out to the moderators once requesting a endangered species and climate change group but to no avail.

But I really start to lose heart when important things hardly stir a reaction here. But going back to the vaquita, even most of the major environmental groups won't touch that issue and I don't understand why. I lost respect for them as a result. I asked Sierra (says it is not a U.S. issue), Defenders of Wildlife (lady on the phone wasn't sure why, but understood why I was diverting my money), and just sent some comments to WWF because their latest "adoption gift catalog" doesn't include the vaquita, but does include cetaceans that are in a far less critical status.

So I don't know.

Since you've been at it so long, I'll mention something I'm involved in. I realized one day that feelings about the vaquita were overwhelming me and I thought that others who are closer to things that are being pushed to the side and destroyed must have similar feelings. I also realized that we didn't get to the moon because Kennedy listed all the great science we'd complete in space. Really what has to happen is people have to get past numb and be emotional about these things, to really truly FEEL what is happening. So I realized for endangered species that the best way would be an opera about the feelings involved in loss of species (low fact/high emotion). Someone put me in touch with a couple of guys in that realm of theater (I have no talent myself), but the project is starting to take form.
