In reply to the discussion: Pic Of The Moment: Insane President Won't Commit To Peaceful Transfer Of Power [View all]EarlG
(23,659 posts)9. I feel like every time he does this
it just peels away another thin slice of wavering Republican voters.
Just when the GOP thinks they can turn the election into a referendum on SCOTUS instead of a referendum on Trump, he doubles down with some new piece of psycho nonsense that other Republicans will now have to defend. Hes stuck at 42-43% and he has just a few weeks left to win back moderate voters who could be persuaded to give him a second chance. Instead hes saying if you dont want violence, cancel the election. Its insane. His hardcore support is maxed out, all hes going to do is turbocharge the rest of the electorate against him.
(Plus I think Id rather have him loudly telegraphing his crazy plans than sneaking up on us with them at the last minute.)

In other words, if there are no ballots, I'll just continue on as "your" President.
