I took was with the retired editor of the NY Post (Dolly Schiff's Post, not Murdoch's) and he insisted, to an unbelieving class, that ALL news media is biased. The trick is to understand the biases and know when to believe or disbelieve.

As I have mentioned before, I used to get both the NYT and WSJ for the subway ride to work, and their coverage of the same story could be amazing-- if they didn't mention what it was about, it could be two different things. The WSJ editorial pages sometimes even ignored what was in the news sections.
