And since I'm in Northeastern New York, it's winter. But it was unseasonably mild today. And we had a mask mandate for over a year to enter any store or business. People were used to it. But then they rescinded it back in July just in time for "tourist season." I'm just south of Lake George Village and driving north, I saw license plates from states as far away as Florida, Alabama and Utah! Last year everything remained closed, I guess they couldn't afford to do it for a second year. *sigh*
I've been out twice since the mask mandate was back in place. Late Monday, I stopped at a small grocery in Lake George to pick up a couple of things and the only other patron in the store was a woman who I saw go through the checkout ahead of me, a woman with no mask even though there are clear signs on every entrance. And the thing is, who is supposed to enforce this, the young girl at the checkout? It's very frustrating - again.
