Nor would it be a violation of the law for the government to observe them by clandestine means. It might not be admissible evidence in a court of law, but they could keep tabs on them. In fact, I can guarantee they do. Hell, they infiltrate and observe (sometimes even crossing the line to illegal collection of evidence) against peaceful anti-war demonstrators.

That church has no expectation of privacy against a MEMBER that wishes to show the world what is going on inside.
