19. In the end Hitler was angry at the German people and let them literally burn.

He blamed the German people for losing the war. He could have surrendered and stopped the bombing of Berlin.

His generals begged him to surrender to stop the bombing and cut better terms for the country and people.

Hitler flat out refused to do so.

And yes part of his thought process was that he did not want anything left for the Allies. And he blamed everyone else but himself for the loss of the war.

Eisenhower and Churchill discussed all of this. Some of the British generals did not want a ground assault on Europe. They insisted the war could be won with just arial bombing. But it would mean the complete destruction of European cities.

Eisenhower said NO. He was not willing to destroy Europe with bombs. He knew the ground assault meant American lives but he could not see killing so many European civilians with constant bombing.

The lesson here is that Trump is like Hitler and will burn down the US, especially when he starts losing.
