This would ensure more babies wouldn't be killed by tainted formula. Minority whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) led the effort to oppose the bill by sending all house republicans a memo arguing that additional inspectors would not address the problem. (Translation: republicans are massively funded by formula-producing pharmaceutical companies to cover up their liability and ineptitude). Scalise's argument is absolutely stupid and illogical - if the FDA is to blame instead of the pharmaceutical companies for their bacteria-laden facility and equipment that killed babies, this is precisely what would address the problem.
