I remember the part when the elder daughter was sent to school after she was told that her mother wasn't going to survive. And then she got that phone call at school and assumed she was being told that her mother was dead - and of course she'd be responsible for her 4 younger siblings. The father may have made money, but it sounded like their homelife was a nightmare.
