A lot of criminal behavior is being discussed in the hearing, but it is not a trial. This is an investigation by a Congressional committee in order to find out what happened on J6 and then make legislative recommendations to Congress when the hearings are done.

If Trump wants to talk, he will have to be sworn in first. Then he will get even more time to talk when he is charged with perjury because, of course he will lie. He is so divorced from truth that he can't recognize it.
