(53,546 posts)to just vote a straight republican or Democratic ticket. Many may not even know who he is or what he stands for, but he's not a Democrat and not Maggie Hassan.
Right now, both our senators and our congressional representative are Democrats AND they are all women, which is a plus. Somehow, state and local politics often end up republican though.
Since I've lived here (2010), we have mostly had Democratic governors and our two senators were governors at one time. Still the legislature tends to be controlled by republicans. For some strange reason, we have the largest legislature in the United States (after the U.S. Congress), but we only have 1.3 million people. My ballot is rather strange - "Vote for no more than six" for State Representatives, but only four of them are Democrats.
