Especially when right-wing interests are at play.

To Brazilian right-wingers - who, as you know, recently even attempted a coup - it's only "a matter of time" until they're back in the saddle.

And they see Santos as a (potentially) useful future U.S. congressional liaison for when that day comes.

If only he weren't such a runaway criminal, and such an embarrassment!
