11. If that's the case, they really need to start emphasizing teaching Civics in school

I guess I was lucky, here in New York we started early. As I said above, I remember learning about the Civil Rights Movement in 9th grade - and who our senators were. 10th grade was World History, there was no doubt that the nazis were horrible, not that we didn't already know that. And 11th grade was American History - we girls did skits and I portrayed James Garfield and John Hancock. Don't they still teach that history today??
