Wonder Why

9. I don't think it qualifies. Reading definitions of "pandemic", they are pretty vague

so it becomes a matter of opinion. Flu season occurs every year and spikes and people die from it (particularly the elderly) but we've had Covid twice - once months after fourth shot and one months after 5th. Neither was particularly any worse than a cold. Paxlovid is available. Another new shot is coming. Some people still die but many the unvaccinated except those at risk as they would be to flu or who don't take Paxlovid in time.

The danger of death or Long Covid will likely be around for a long time but whether it qualifies any more as a pandemic, at least in most advanced countries that have easy access to vaccines and Paxlovid, is a matter of debate.
