It was pretty gross. I had to crawl through the dirt under the floor joists (about 14" clearance) to run parallel cable to the server (an Apple II with a Corvus 5MB hard drive hanging off of it) and got bitten by dozens of really pissed off spiders. I still like spiders, mind you. I drilled holes in the wall from underneath and managed to cram (what I think was a 32-wire cable) up through them by twisting it like a soda straw casing. Amazingly it worked.

It took about three showers and two washer loads to get me and the clothes clean.
