(11,721 posts)I have a small turkey breast which will be accompanied by sausage stuffing (Pepp. Farms), mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus, cranberry sauce, and a glass (or two) of Pinot Grigio. I just realized I forgot to buy biscuits, so will do without to avoid another trip to the store. No dessert because it's not my thing.
My son and his family live nearby, but they have an active household consisting of two working adults and two busy teens - too much exposure for my liking. With the COVID numbers escalating, I decided it's too risky to spend the holiday there. They offered to drop off a plate, but I'd miss the leftovers for the turkey/stuffing/cranberry sandwich on Friday. The same will probably be true of Christmas also. It's a little lonely, but certainly safer, and I've done it before and lived.
Looks like there might be a few of us here on DU that day.
