14. There's no doubt that we're harmful to the ecosystem.

It's not even recent. Lots of ancient species disappeared after humans arrived in their area.

Our brains are very adaptable and innovative, but long-term impacts have been repeatedly ignored by too many of us.

Edit: Months ago, I posted a scientific study here that showed the best way to combat climate change is to have no children. It was shown to be far more impactful than NEVER driving a car, riding in airplanes, etc. Almost everyone replied that it wouldn't stop THEM from having kids.
