(4,687 posts)That is the direction I am leaning. I am telling them that I hope to at least have guidance and direction of where I'm going to get all this data I'm supposed to be analyzing and making reports and recommendations on.
The other bummer is that since Covid, I've been able to work at home, so no more 4 hour daily commute from Napa to San Francisco. Eventually I will have to go back and I was hoping I could transition into mostly working from home (since I've been able to do almost everything from home).
They really want me to resign though, and take this 25K early retirement offer. (I qualify for full retirement in July anyway, but wasn't planning on it until I reach 62 so I can also get my SS)
It is definitely outside of my comfort zone. But I think I can do what they are asking, as long as I get some kind of guidance, and if needed, training. If I can record the damn meetings that I'm supposed to now be taking minutes for I can do that as well. I don't take shorthand. And he better not ask me to get him a cup of fucking coffee!
I think this is driven by budget decisions, but it is hard not to take it personally. The tech world is a man's world and it has been a difficult fight for me over the years, and I still don't feel like I get the same kind of respect the guys do.
