7. It really is a terrible denial

As children, we occasionally had a dog, and some "farm cats". I say occasionally, because the dog would either run off or something would happen. None were ever allowed in the house.

It's not the same at all, and I now feel terrible for the dogs we had outside who also didn't get the attention they deserved. I can't now imagine not having your animals indoors, they are part of the family.
