His degree was in animal husbandry, which is exactly the major you should take if you want to be a military intelligence officer. Anyway, when we were slow he would teach us all about artificially inseminating cattle. I don’t think I would want to be the one who had to jack off a bull to get the necessary semen for the job, but part of his training was doing exactly that. Repeatedly.

Horses, you don’t do that to if you’re in a breeding program. Whether it’s tradition or because artificial insemination has been tried and failed, horses are inseminated the old fashioned way.
