10. "Our" grandchildren, at least the young ones (all 'acquired' in my case), all call my wife "Mamma D"

The eldest of what I've dubbed The Wee Ones couldn't pronounce "Grandma" or any reasonable variation, so she became "Mamma D." The youngest of all of them, Cecilia, is a complete panic, fearless, and lives her frantic little life right out loud.

A few days ago, her mom, Mamma D's youngest child, was talking to her about colouring hair. Ceci said "Tell Mamma D not to dye her hair grey any more." She was almost stunned to find out it wasn't a fashion choice.

Kids are hilarious.

A few years ago, on either Father's Day, or his birthday, Ceci and Alana's mom was taking them out to put flowers on her father, their grandfather's grave. As they were pulling out, Alana had been mulling over what was going on, then comes up with "Papa Dale is in Heaven, right?" "Yes, that's right."

So...half hour drive or so, and Ceci, being about 3 at the time, couldn't see out, so when they pulled into the cemetery and stopped, she craned her neck, trying to see out, and said "Are we in Heaven?"
