... I remember seeing and hearing lots of them 17 years ago.

I edited my previous post shortly before your reply. I'll probably see and hear them very soon since they've recently emerged in big numbers on the southern side of my county. I'm on the northern end.

I live in Montgomery County OH, which is the southern-most county on that map that doesn't have black slashes in the yellow.
