First car I had with keyless ignition there was a key hidden in the fob that could open the trunk where a cable could be pulled to open the door. You will get low battery warnings on the dashboard that will give you time to change the battery in the fob. Instructions and the battery type are in the owner's manual. Batteries can be gotten at everything from most grocery stores to a hardware or drug store. Changing it is easy with the instructions in the manual. My experience with four keyless cars is that the battery lasts 2-3 years.

Do not go to the dealership to have this done unless you want to pay exponentially more than doing it yourself. Some dealers are honest, but some are notorious for charging a lot for the battery you can buy for less than $5, and sometimes even telling people the fob needs to be "reprogrammed" (it doesn't) and charging over $100 to do essentially nothing.
