(34,282 posts)37. Oh my, where to start.
I am a drummer and trumpet player and dont play much anymore, real bad ear problems.
For about 5 years in the early to Mid 70's I saw many shows at Winterland and Day on the Green shows, Oakland.
Like Queen, and I will never forget standing on the sidewalk waiting to get in and hearing the sound check, I looked at my friends and said "Oh my god."
We were right up by the stage, same for Paul and Wings Cow Palace, we got there and the line went blocks down the road and I turned to my friends and said " I did not wait all these years to see a Beatle to stand in back," and I grabbed them and we went right to the front of the line.
Was I there for the legendary Zeppelin show at Oakland Coliseum when they fought? Yes.
Was i there for "The Who Dead" show, I am in this picture

To our right of the guy with the camera, with glasses.
As to playing today, I wish Freddie was.
(40 yrs later saw Ringo and All Star Band)
