But helps transition to the newly adopted pet who won't be Albert, so sort of disappoints... at first.
I still miss Caleb, the gentle giant. I lucked into adopting Tiago, lively Husky doggo. Partially his independent streak made a hard transition for nearly a year. Just... "not Caleb". Now he's grown as fond of me as vice versa.
It still wells my eyes up to think of a day I cross over to be mauled by quite a few animals.
