…here on DU, I once commented that it took me about 30 seconds to fall in love with a kitten. Someone responded, “How come so long?”

Decades ago, I “babysat” for a baby raccoon whose owner was going to be out of town for a few days. His name was Brady, and he was a hoot. When his human mom came to reclaim him, i cried my eyes out. You’d have thought he was a pet I’d had for years.
