15. I got to go to a prerace practice session at the Speedway

The company I worked for got employees free passes to see them drive and get into the center area (I don't know exactly what it was called) where we could see the cars up close and chat with drivers if they were available.

It struck me as funny that we could have conversations in the stands half the time. When the drivers were on the other side of the track, we could talk to each other. When they came around the bend to where we were sitting, all conversation stopped. Once the car passed around the bend again, we just picked up where we left off, usually in mid-sentence. My ears were ringing for days.
