13. Butterfly, I had the same feeling when I became a Star Member...

first, some kind soul here on DU gave me a membership. Once it expired, I pinpointed a bit of discretionary funds to buy one for myself. I don't pay to subscribe anywhere else. No place else is worth it, to my mind. Of course I come here to find out what's going on in the world, but more than that... it's the people here who make it worthwhile, IMO. And it goes far beyond just "like minds"... there are excellent critical thinkers here, as well as people across all walks of life with knowledge and experiences they're willing to share. And a better group of cat and pet parents, I don't think you can find anywhere!
