Composed by Yoshiki (on the piano). This is a complicated piece of music that, to me, evokes an entire range of emotions from longing to triumph. It ranges from heartbreakingly beautiful to dramatic, and throughout it teases, leaving the listener wanting more.
From the 1982 Tony Awards. Jennifer Holliday puts on one of the most powerful performances ever captured on film. This is singing on a preternatural level. Note, watch it all the way to the end. No lip synching, no auto tune, pure live perfection.
Terry Reid (the guy originally tapped as the lead singer for Led Zep) still amazing after all these these years. This is a sad and beautiful song.
