Today my Pop lost his battle with cancer

66. This community means more to me than I can express

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for your kindness and support. DU is a special place and each of you are special.

I'll share one thing that is on my heart now. Every phone call with Pop started like this:

Bake: Is this my dear old Daddy?

Pop: is this my baby son? (Yes, I'm the youngest)

And we always closed it by saying I love you. He'd always tell me to give everybody a big hug for him, and I'd respond by saying that I always do what me Daddy tells me to do.

Mrs. Bake said last night, who's going to tell you to give everybody a big hug?

And I said even if he can't tell me to do that, I will, because I know that's what he would say.
